Traditionally carragheen was used as a soothing drink for coughs and colds.

Ingredients:

20 g Carragheen

1 l of water

Lemon/orange Juice or honey

Soak the carragheen for approximately 15 min in water. Rinse it thoroughly afterwards removing any shells or instrustations. 

Bring to the boil and simmer for about 1/2 hour. Strain using a sieve and remove the carragheen.

You may add lemon/orange Juice or honey to the liquid.

Drink as hot as possible.
